Preparing for the CPS Test

The CPS Test (Cooperative Personal Services)  is a crucial part of the Firefighter selection process. We offer the following tips when preparing and writing the CPS:

• Write as many practice tests as you can!
• Make sure you’re well rested when writing the test
• Be in good physical and mental health when attempting the exam
• Remember to pace yourself when writing the test
• Do the sections on the test that you know first
• Leave the difficult sections on the test for the end
• Don’t leave blank answers on the test
• Review all your answers if you can
• Try to relax the night prior to your test.
• Arrive early for your test.
